net.Art y control (2017)
Concept
New technologies have opened unexpected spaces for aesthetic dialogue and, at the same time, have critically revealed positions of power and control. Net.Art represented, and continues to represent, a radical form of experimentation with new aesthetic languages, based on its foundations of physical immateriality, instant communication, absence of cardinal references, internationality, delocalization, interactive parameters, mixing of materials and artistic styles, playful spirit, and a rethinking of the creative subject and identity.

Project
The exhibition is conceived as a review of the development of New Media Art over the last twenty years, based on the work of artist Ricardo Iglesias. It presents a selection of net.Art works, beginning with References to the artist’s first project from 1997 and culminating in his latest piece, ArtPlay, presented at 1840s GIFParty at Tate Britain (London) and a representation of the most outstanding interactive installations including video-installation and robotics works such as Surveillance Cameras (2010) and Eden (2015).
